Rafael Benitez believes Liverpool Football Club’s experience will serve them well in the run-in for a place in the Premier League’s top-four this season.

The Reds have made a right hash of their desire to win the title this season, and are now involved in a battle to secure a place in the UEFA Champions League next term.

Aston Villa, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are also competing for the fourth position, but Benitez hopes the experience of his players will see them home.

“We have experience of competing for a top-four place, maybe more than the other teams, and I hope that works in our favour,” said the Spanish coach.
