Assou-Ekotto faces Tottenham Hotspur fight
Benoit Assou-Ekotto has a job winning his place back in the Tottenham Hotspur side.
The 25-year-old left-back was an ever-present before heading off to the African Cup of Nations with Cameroon, but his replacement, Gareth Bale, has been in fine form of late.
The Wales international initially struggled at White Hart Lane following his move from Southampton in 2007, but Harry Redknapp has been full of praise for his performances.
"My other left-back, Benoit, was playing as well as anyone in the country - but he has got his work cut out to get back in the team with the way this kid (Bale) is playing,” he said.
"He really does look a fantastic player. He is looking like the player we thought he was when he was a kid. I've been so pleased with him. He has stepped in there and done a great job.”
