Tottenham Hotspur failed with McGregor bid
Tottenham Hotspur Football Club failed with a deadline day bid for Allan McGregor.
Harry Redknapp was eager to sign a new goalkeeper whilst the winter window was open, and set his sights on Portsmouth’s Asmir Begovic as his fist choice target.
However, the Pompey man shunned White Hart Lane by joining Stoke City, and thus forcing the Londoners to turn to Rangers star McGregor.
Reports suggest Spurs failed with a bid to take the 28-year-old on loan for the rest of the season, with the view to a permanent £4million transfer in the summer.
It is believed the Scottish giants were only willing to do an instant transfer, and this left little time for the Premier League side to thrash out a deal before the deadline.
