Benitez assured of Liverpool future
12:30 PM 04 February, 2010
Christian Purslow insists Liverpool Football Club have no intention of axing Rafael Benitez.

The Reds have failed to mount a bid for the Premier League title this season after going so close last term, and they also crashed out of the UEFA Champions League at the group stage.

This has piled the pressure on Benitez, with strong reports from Italy claiming Juventus will try and offer him a route out of England at the end of the season.

However, Anfield managing director Purslow has slammed suggestions the Spaniard is under fire, and insists the former Valencia coach will remain in charge.

“We have not considered, nor are we going to consider, a future without Benitez,” he said. “The plan calls for five years of stability in the coaching staff and the playing staff.”
