Coyle desperate to see real Elmander
09:00 AM 05 February, 2010
Owen Coyle is praying Johan Elmander finds his best form for Bolton Wanderers Football Club.

The Sweden international was an £8million Gary Megson signing from Toulouse in the summer of 2008, but he has struggled for form and has found the net just seven times.

Recently installed Bolton coach Coyle has been impressed with the 28-year-old striker in training, and he sees no reason why the player can’t replicate this when it matters.

“Johan has been a top player and there is no reason why he can’t be again,” said the Scot. “I have been delighted by how he has gone about his work. He is a lovely lad and keen to do well.

“And he earned the reputation he came with so there is no reason why he can’t go on and show all those abilities again. It’s up to him when he crosses that white line.

“You can show your stuff day in, day out. But ultimately, you will be judged on what you do on that pitch when you wear the Wanderers shirt in those competitive games.”
