Riera rules out Liverpool departure
Albert Riera has no intention of quitting Liverpool Football Club.
The Spanish winger has been hit-and-miss since heading to Anfield from Espanyol in the summer of 2008, in a deal which cost the Premier League side a fee of £8million.
It was reported during the winter that Rafael Benitez was looking to offload his Spanish compatriot back to La Liga, but the 27-year-old insists his future remains on Merseyside.
“If the club offered a seven year contract, I'd sign it,” Riera told LFC Weekly. “Where else is there to go? Being anywhere else would be a step down. I have everything I need in Liverpool.”
