Javi Martinez has played down speculation linking him with Manchester City Football Club.

The 21-year-old is rated as one of the brightest young midfielders in Spanish football, and is said to be a £25million summer target for Roberto Mancini.

However, the Under-21 international has played down speculation he could quit Athletic Bilbao at the end of the season, and insists he is fully focused on his current club.

"Nobody has told me anything, not my agent or anyone else," Martinez told Marca. "I try to avoid this kind of talk as much as possible as it would be wrong of me to divert my attention.”
