Martin O’Neill’s claims Aston Villa Football Club’s defence produced their best performance of the season at White Hart Lane.

Villa held rival top-four challengers Tottenham Hotspur to a goalless draw in North London, a result which keeps both sides in contention for a UEFA Champions League place.

"It keeps us alive,” said O’Neill.

“I'm delighted with the effort because we have a team going week in and week out, and we showed great tenacity. It was probably was our best defensive performance of the season.”
