Mourinho hints at Internazionale exit
11:30 AM 08 February, 2010
Jose Mourinho has hinted he could quit Internazionale at the end of the season.

The former Chelsea coach is chasing a second successive Serie A title this term, whilst a UEFA Champions League clash against his ex-club is also on the agenda.

It has been widely accepted that Mourinho has failed to settle in Italy as he did in England, where he was hugely popular, and he has revealed he could be about to quit the San Siro.

"The club [Inter] and I signed a very objective contract until 2012, because we want to work together,” the two-time Premier League winner is quoted in the Portuguese press.

"But there is a cancellation clause that Inter will pay me if they want my departure and another that I will pay Inter if I want to leave.

"It's all simple and very objective. There will never be a never-ending story with us as has happened in the past with other people. We are honest people with honest contracts and objectivity."

This is expected to have placed Liverpool and Manchester City on alert, although it has long been thought Mourinho would much prefer the job at Manchester United.

But with Sir Alex Ferguson showing no signs he is ready to step down at Old Trafford, The Special One may have to settle for one of their fiercest rivals instead.
