Birmingham City Football Club will try for Kris Boyd at the end of the season.

Alex McLeish returned to former club Rangers in a bid to sign the striker during the winter window, but they were told he was seeing the season out at Ibrox.

Boyd is out of contract in the summer when he will be available on a Bosman free transfer, and the Blues boss admits he will try again ahead of the 2010/11 campaign.

“I asked the question,” said McLeish. "But Walter Smith said he was going to keep everybody until the end of the season. There are other clubs in for him but we will pursue that avenue."
