Every game vital for Wigan Athletic boss
06:30 PM 09 February, 2010
Roberto Martinez admits every game is now crucial for Wigan Athletic Football Club.

The Latics have endured a strange season this time round, having beaten Chelsea at the DW Stadium yet lost 9-1 at Tottenham Hotspur and 5-0, twice, to Manchester United.

Currently just two points above the relegation zone, Wigan welcome Stoke City to Lancashire on Tuesday night, and Martinez admits this is yet another crucial fixture.

“Every point is vital from now until the end of the season," he said. "We are not in the last third of the campaign yet, which is when everything starts to have a massive influence on the table.

"But we want to go into every game - especially the nine we have at home - with that must-win attitude. I am pleased with the way we are trying to win games and I'm happy with the progression.

"We are quite clear how we want to win games but we cannot look any further than tomorrow (Tuesday), which is a cup final within a league campaign and we know that."
