John Terry has thanked Chelsea Football Club’s fans.

The defender has had a troubled time over the past week and a bit, with allegations in the press claiming he had an affair with the ex-girlfriend of former team-mate Wayne Bridge.

This has resulted in him being stripped of the England captaincy, but his fans at club level showed him how they feel about him during the 2-0 win over Arsenal on Sunday.

“On a personal note I would like to thank every single fan," Terry told Chelsea TV. "It's been an emotional day and how the fans have been with me has been quite incredible.

"I didn't expect that and I would like to thank every single individual fan for the way they treated me. It was a great performance and, I mean it from my heart, I would like to thank everyone."
