Davies rules out Manchester City bid
07:00 PM 09 February, 2010
Kevin Davies doesn’t think Manchester City Football Club are good enough to finish in the top four.

The mega-rich Blues have spent millions since the takeover of their Abu-Dhabi based owners, and to finish in the UEFA Champions League qualifying places is their minimum target this season.

City are three points behind this position but have two games in hand, yet despite this, Bolton Wanderers star Davies, who faces the Eastlands club on Tuesday, has delivered a damning verdict.

"I don't think City will be challenging for the top four," he told the Manchester Evening News. "The top six to eight sides are all great teams spending good money.

"But I think City might miss out on the Champions League this year. City have some great players but sometimes when you have all those superstars it is hard to get that team spirit."
