Sylvain Distin is delighted that Louis Saha has signed a new deal at Everton Football Club.

The French striker was due to become a free agent at the end of the season, and he had been linked with a number of clubs including Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

However, the 31-year-old has ended all speculation over his future by agreeing a new two-and-a-half year deal at Goodison Park, to the relief of his compatriot.

“It’s great news,” Distin told Everton TV. “He’s a fantastic player. He’s a good guy in the dressing room as well, so it’s great news for the fans, the staff and the players.”
