Manchester United Football Club remain keen on Sergio Canales.

The young Racing Santander midfielder is rated as one of the brightest prospects in Spain, and his contract is due to expire at the end of the current season.

It is being claimed that the 18-year-old will sign a new deal with Racing in the coming weeks, but will then be sold for around £10million in the summer.

In January it looked as though Real Madrid were set to take him to the Bernabeu, and although the deal eventually collapsed, Los Blancos remain interested.

However, reports in Spain claim Sir Alex Ferguson has not given up hope of signing Canales, and is prepared to match Real note-for-note for his signature.
