Is Ribery to follow in footsteps of Platini and Zidane?
06:00 PM 12 February, 2010
Juventus would love to stun their European rivals and sign Franck Ribery in the summer.

The France playmaker is widely expected to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season, when he will have just twelve months remaining on his contract at the Allianz Arena.

The Bundesliga giants have made it clear they will sell the 26-year-old unless he pens a new deal, and they would demand a fee in the region of £30million for his signature.

The usual suspects in European football – Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United, - have all been linked with his signature in recent times.

Reports in Tuttosport, though, claim the Bianconeri, who have had a real struggle on the pitch this season, hope to stun this quartet by stealing the player from under their noses.

It is believed the Serie A giants are hoping to persuade Ribery to head to Turin and follow in the footsteps of previous Les Bleus stars, Michel Platini and Zinedine Zidane.
