Manchester City Football Club boss Roberto Mancini has compared Adam Johnson to Ryan Giggs.

The Blues famously missed out on Giggs when he was barely in his teens, and he has gone on to become the most decorated player in the history of neighbours United.

Mancini paid £8million to take Jonson from Middlesbrough on deadline day, and after just two games, the 22-year-old is already earning rave reviews.

"Johnson is a great player," said the City boss. "I remember Ryan Giggs when he was young and the way he moved. Johnson is the same player. He has a good chance for the future."
