Liam Ridgewell hopes to earn a new contract at Birmingham City Football Club.

The 25-year-old defender is out of contract at St Andrews in the summer, but having played his part in the Blues successful return to the Premier League, he is hopeful of earning a new deal.

"I've had a brief discussion about the contract and we are looking to press on. I want to get it done and dusted," said Ridgewell. "Hopefully we can get it kicked on in the next few weeks.

“I certainly don't want to leave it until the end of the season."
