Birmingham City hope to extend Hart loan
08:39 PM 14 February, 2010
Birmingham City Football Club hope to have Joe Hart in their squad again next season.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper has been superb for the Blues during the current campaign, but Manchester City are reluctant to let him leave on a permanent basis.

However, with Shay Given the undisputed number one at Eastlands, Alex McLeish is hoping that Roberto Mancini will allow Hart to remain at St Andrews on loan next season.

“I've put into the system that our chief executive should be talking to City about next season. If I can't get Hart permanent, would I settle for another loan season? Yes,” he said.

"Joe loves his team-mates, he loves the club, the ambience. When you have a feel-good factor, then players can give their best form and play without fear.

"We have ironed out a few rough edges and I hope City recognise that and give us a bit of goodwill for next season - if you are listening Manchester City.”

I think Joe should remain at Birmingham for another season, he needs to play, and he won't get in' with our team at City.
