Kenwyne Jones insists he is fully committed to Sunderland Football Club.

Birmingham City and Liverpool were said to be interested in the 25-year-old striker during the winter, which sparked reports he was keen to consider his options.

Jones remains at the Stadium of Light, though, and he has now gone on record to state that at no point during January did he ask to quit the Black Cats.

"If you noticed during all of this stuff I never came out and gave any indication that I wanted to leave, that I was unhappy or anything like that,” he told The Journal.

“There was a lot of stuff being said by whoever and you can't stop that. All I can do to prove I am committed to Sunderland is by showing it in games - and hopefully people can then see it now.”
