Manchester United Football Club are keeping tabs on Joe Cole.

It has been well documented that the England international is out of contract at Chelsea in the summer, although he insists he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge.

However, Cole has yet to agree new terms with the Londoners after holding talks, and he is also struggling to force his way into Carlo Ancelotti’s starting eleven.

Reports in the Daily Express claim United are keeping tabs on the 28-year-old’s situation, and they could make him an offer when if he becomes a free agent in the summer.

Sir Alex Ferguson has long been a fan of Cole, from the player’s days at West Ham United, and he could see him as an ideal alternative to Ryan Giggs on the left side of midfield.
