Jones could still be Liverpool target
10:30 AM 19 February, 2010
Liverpool Football Club could renew their interest in Kenwyne Jones in the summer.

Rafael Benitez outraged Sunderland in January when he made a loan bid for their star striker, which Steve Bruce believes had an unsettling affect on the player.

This doesn’t appear to have dissuaded the Spanish coach, though, with reports suggesting he will return with a cash bid for the 25-year-old at the end of the season.

And although Jones insists he is happy at the Stadium of Light, he also admits the lure of a move to one of the biggest clubs in Europe is appealing.

“If one of the world’s big clubs come in for you, it is understandable a player might have the desire to go to that next level,” the Trinidadian was quoted earlier this week.
