Mauro Zarate’s brother has dismissed speculation the forward could be on his way to Arsenal.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with the Argentine forward, who has experience of playing in England during a loan stint at Birmingham City in the 2007/08 season.

Zarate, 22, is currently plying his trade in Italy for Lazio, and his agent has played down speculation of a move to the Emirates Stadium by claiming a transfer is highly unlikely.

"It's normal that there are clubs all over the world interested in Mauro," Sergio Zarate said. "Even if there were offers, my brother wouldn't move because he is too attached to the Lazio fans."
