Saha rues missed Manchester United chance
Louis Saha believes he was never given the chance to cement a permanent first team place at Manchester United Football Club.
The France international striker spent four-and-a-half years at Old Trafford, yet his injury problems prevented him ever really getting to grips with Sir Alex Ferguson’s first team line-up.
Now back at his best with Everton, who beat United 3-1 on Saturday, Saha has told the News of the World how he feels his fitness problems wrecked his spell in Manchester.
“I had a lot of physical problems at Manchester United and never really got the chance to win a permanent first-team place. I have this feeling that I missed out on something,” he said.
"During the years with the club, I went through so many different things. I was supposed to be in the squad for the Champions League final in Moscow in 2008 but it was impossible because of injury.
"I had some great times at United. I have a huge respect for Sir Alex. If I run into him in 20 years' time, I will still call him boss - he changed my life and I think he changed the life of many players."
