Howard tips Manchester United to bounce back
03:30 PM 23 February, 2010
Tim Howard has backed Manchester United Football Club to overcome their Goodison Park loss.

The Reds lost ground to Chelsea in the Premier League race when they lost 3-1 at Everton, a result which leaves them trailing the Londoners by four points.

However, Howard, who had a stint at Old Trafford from 2003 to 2006, believes this shock loss could be the kick up the backside to inspire Sir Alex Ferguson’s men to more glory.

“I think United will respond positively,” said the goalkeeper. “They tend not to look back too often or dwell on things. They wouldn’t have wanted to concede that third goal at the end.

“But maybe it can work in their favour. Everyone can lose by the odd goal but 3-1 is a margin that could give them a kick up the backside and act as a spark.”
