Petr Cech insists Chelsea Football Club must ensure they remember Jose Mourinho is only part of their past on Wednesday night.

The Blues will face their former manager for the first time at the San Siro, when they face his Inter Milan side in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League second round tie.

Whilst Cech has special memories of the Special One, as do the rest of his former players and the fans, he has warned his team-mates not to get too sentimental.

“Of course it is exciting to face Jose again and for the Chelsea supporters it is going to be a special occasion,” said the goalkeeper. “We know what a great past he had at this club.

“I always had a good working relationship with Jose, and it is always said when a successful manager has to leave. But life goes on. He is successful with Inter and we are also successful.

“It will be nice to see him again and shake his hand. But we cannot think about the past, only the future. And the future for Chelsea is to beat Inter Milan and go to the quarter-finals.”
