Manchester United Football Club will bid for David Villa in the summer, claim reports.

Once again the Spanish international striker is being heavily tipped with a transfer from Valencia at the end of the season, as the Liga club look to cash in on their prized asset.

The Mirror claim Sir Alex Ferguson is set to enter the race for the 28-year-old, who is expected to spark a bidding war starting at around £30million should he be sold.

Whilst the Reds would love to take Villa, they are sure to face competition from Chelsea, whilst Barcelona and Real Madrid are also likely to involve themselves in the race.
