Liverpool skipper serious about Europa League
Steven Gerrard would love to win the Europa League with Liverpool Football Club.
Whilst the England skipper would naturally rather be competing in the UEFA Champions League, he insists he and his team-mates are fully focused on the next best thing.
The Reds progressed to the last sixteen with a win over Unirea this week, and they now play French side Lille as they map their route to the final in Hamburg.
"Every competition is very important to this football club, especially when you've gone out of other tournaments," said Gerrard. "This is our last hope of silverware.
“It would be terrific if we could go all the way to the final for the fans that have supported us this season. There is a long way to go but we want to go all the way to Hamburg.”
