Ben Thatcher has confirmed he has left Ipswich Town Football Club.

The 34-year-old veteran defender has failed to make a single appearance for Roy Keane’s side this season, and his contract has now been cancelled by mutual consent.

"I want to wish the club the very best for the future,” Thatcher told the official club site. "They are a great set of lads and I want to see them climb the table over the rest of the season.

"I want to carry on playing and definitely feel I can do a job on the pitch for another year or two and then I might look at coaching."
