Birmingham City Football Club will make a check on Kris Boyd this week.

Alex McLeish has made no secret of his desire to add the striker to his St Andrews squad, and he was close to achieving this during the winter window.

Boyd, though, remains at Rangers, but he is out of contract in the summer and as he is unlikely to pen a new deal, he will be available to sign on a Bosman free transfer.

The Daily Mail claim McLeish will take a close look at the 26-year-old on Wednesday evening, when he is expected to make his Scotland return against the Czech Republic.
