Is Sagna’s Arsenal future in doubt?
10:30 AM 03 March, 2010
Arsenal Football Club’s reported interest in Gregory van der Wiel has raised eyebrows.

The Daily Star claim Arsene Wenger is keen to sign the Dutch international in the summer, and will compete with AC Milan and Juventus to land his signature.

Van der Wiel is a speedy attacking right-back who would excite fans, but with France international Bacary Sagna at the club, do the Gunners need him?

Since arriving from Auxerre the 27-year-old has been a huge hit in England, and Wenger handed him a new contract last year which keeps him at the club until 2014.

It would seem odd, then, that the Premier League title contenders would be willing to spend heavily on van der Wiel, 22, who is rated highly by current club Ajax.

AW should give AFC youngster Thomas Cruise a chance as he did very well as a right back when he played against Olympiakos .
