Johann Djourou hopes to be back in action for Arsenal Football Club this season.

The Swiss defender enjoyed an impressive pre-season for the Gunners, but his progress was hampered by a knee injury he picked up on international duty.

It was initially feared that Djourou would miss the rest of the season for Arsene Wenger’s side, but he hopes to be back in training by the end of April.

“It is coming along very well,” he told Arsenal TV Online. “I’m very happy to actually maybe see the end of the tunnel now because it has been a rough route.

“I am working hard to get back on the field, and hopefully in a month and a half I will be back in training. I think I will come back stronger because I have learned a lot.”
