Real Madrid eager to tie up Higuain contract
Real Madrid are eager to secure Gonzalo Higuain to a new contract.
The Argentine international has established himself as a vital part of the Bernabeu line-up this season, with sixteen goals from twenty appearances in La Liga.
Higuain still has three years remaining on his contract after this season, and although he is keen to negotiate fresh terms, Sport claim he has rejected the opening two offers.
This has led to speculation that mega-rich Premier League side Manchester City are preparing a bid for the 22-year-old, who has a release clause of €150million in his current deal.
Of course the Blues would not consider meeting this price, but they have shown before, when they tried to lure Kaka from AC Milan, that they are aiming for the world’s best talent.
