Albert Riera is running out of time to impress at Liverpool Football Club.

Rafael Benitez fought tooth and nail to sign the former Manchester City winger from Espanyol in the summer of 2008, but he has thus far failed to set Anfield alight.

Reports in the Daily Post claim the Spaniard could be shown the door during the summer window, as the Reds look to shake-up their underachieving squad.

Riera has not made the bench for the last two matches and is behind the likes of Ryan Babel and January arrival Maxi Rodriguez in Benitez’s pecking order.
