Blackburn Rovers Football Club have signed young Zac Aley.

The 18-year-old forward has signed an eighteen-month contract with the Premier League club, who have taken him from non-league side Southport for an undisclosed fee.

"I'd been down to the Blackburn Academy during last year for a trial, so I was surprised and happy that they were taking a look at me again,” Aley told the official club site.

"I was then invited down for a two-day trial and they asked me to carry it on. And now the deal has been done I'm delighted. I'm happy everything has been sorted out and I'm really happy to be here.

"I'll make sure I'm training hard every day so I can push on and do well for the reserves and then hopefully to try and start training with the first team and we'll see where it goes from there."
