Everton Football Club are hopeful of extending Landon Donovan’s loan stay.

The American international has made a huge impact since arriving at Goodison Park in January on a ten-week loan deal, but he is due back at LA Galaxy later this month.

It was initially thought there was no chance of Donovan extending his stay in England, but Toffees boss David Moyes has revealed discussions are ongoing.

"I am keen to keep Landon and it sounds initially in America that they might say yes," he said. "I think Landon is keen to stay also so it looks as though all parties are keen.

"But I have not got that confirmed yet, I can't say exactly if that is going to happen. If we can make it happen we will. If we can keep him it would be nice but if not I totally understand it."
