Ian Rush admits he would have liked Craig Bellamy to stay at Liverpool Football Club.

The often controversial Wales international joined the Reds in the summer of 2006, but he lasted just one season on Merseyside before leaving for West Ham United.

Now at Manchester City, Bellamy is in the best form of his career, and Kop legend Rush admits he would have liked to have seen the striker given more of a shot at Anfield.

"I was sorry to see him leave because I could see what he had to offer,” he said.
