Alex McLeish insists Joe Hart wants to stay at Birmingham City Football Club.

The England international goalkeeper is on loan at St Andrews from Manchester City, and he has been a huge reason for the Blues sensational return to the Premier League.

McLeish has made no secret that at the very least he wants to keep Hart for a second loan campaign, and he claims the shot-stopper also wants to remain in the Midlands.

“Joe has been tremendous,” said the Scot. "We want to keep him, we'd like to see him stay for another season. He wants to stay. City are his club, in terms of the ownership of the contract.

“We respect that. But we hope at some stage that City can give us a bit of goodwill. It would have to a loan deal because City have said under no circumstances will they sell Joe."
