Real Madrid have confirmed their interest in David Luiz.

Benfica have inserted a release clause of around £40million in the Brazilian defender’s contract, although it is thought they would accept a fee of £15million.

Chelsea and Manchester United are said to be interested in the 22-year-old, but they face completion from Los Blancos who have reportedly already opened talks over a deal.

Speaking on the subject, Real chief Emilio Butragueno confirmed: "Yes, we know a lot about David Luiz and we are very aware of everything that is happening.”
