McCarthy questions Ferguson comments
07:59 PM 07 March, 2010
Mick McCarthy has questioned Sir Alex Ferguson’s opinion that Manchester United Football Club deserved to take maximum points at Molineux on Saturday.

The Reds had to rely on a single Paul Scholes goal late on to beat Wolverhampton Wanderers, but McCarthy was baffled to hear Ferguson felt his side were good value for the points.

"I think some people were watching through rose-tinted spectacles," he said. "He thought United deserved to win? That is great propaganda."

Wolves could easily have earned a points in the dying moments of the match, but substitute Sam Vokes blazed over from a matter of yards when he should have buried the chance.
