Arsenal legend rues van Persie injury
12:30 PM 09 March, 2010
Thierry Henry believes Arsenal Football Club could have been top of the table had Robin van Persie not suffered a long-term injury in November.

The Dutch ace was having the best season of his career, before he was cut down with a serious ankle injury which is likely to keep him out until April at best.

The Gunners have maintained their bid for the Premier League title, but Henry, now of Barcelona, has told The Times that they would have been in an even better position with van Persie.

"They have survived a lot this season, including injuries to Cesc Fabregas and, still, Robin van Persie,” he said. “In fact, you could say that if van Persie had stayed in the side, we might even be top now."
