Barcelona are ready to enter the race to sign Javier Pastore.

The Palermo forward is rated as one of the most exciting talents in Italian football, and has been linked with Internazionale and Chelsea in recent weeks.

Indeed, the president of his current club, Maurizio Zamparini, has revealed that the latter made an offer to sign the player during the summer window.

"Chelsea offered 15 million euro for Pastore in August,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport. "Now he costs three times that but is the strongest player I've ever had and I enjoy working with him."

Reports in Spain now claim Pep Guardiola is keen to add Pastore, 20, to his squad at the Nou Camp ahead of the 2010/11 campaign.
