Barcelona are reportedly closing on Sergio Asenjo.

Although Pep Guardiola already has Victor Valdes in his ranks at the Camp Nou, reports in Spain claim he is eager to add more competition for the goalkeeper role next season.

It is believed the Barca coach has already set the wheels in motion to clinch a deal for Asenjo, who has started fourteen La Liga games for Atletico Madrid this season.

The Spanish Under-21 international only moved to the Vicente Calderon from Real Valladolid in the summer, but El Mundo Deportivo believe he could soon be on the move again.
