Manchester United Football Club insist Owen Hargreaves has not suffered another injury setback.

The England international has not played for the Reds since lining up against Chelsea in September 2008, due to his long-standing knee injuries.

Hargreaves was set to appear for the reserves at Altrincham on Thursday, and although he has withdrawn from the squad, United insist he has not suffered a setback.

"This definitely isn't another injury setback," a spokesman told the club's official website. "It just doesn't fit in with Owen's training schedule."
