Emmanuel Eboue’s agent is baffled by speculation linking the Arsenal Football Club defender with a summer move to Italian giants Roma.

It has been suggested in Italy that the Giallorossi are keen on signing Eboue when the window reopens, but his agent has played down such a rumour.

"It isn't true that Emmanuel is close to Roma," Franjo Vranikovic told romagiallorossa.com. "He is happy in England, he has a nice role. I don't understand why this news has spread in Italy.

"Roma has had no contact with me or with our staff. I can say with confidence that the player is very happy in England and it is unlikely he will move."
