West Ham United linked with treble Blues swoop
West Ham United Football Club have been linked with Liam Ridgewell, Sebastian Larsson and Christian Benitez, although Alex McLeish finds such reports amusing.
Former Birmingham City co-owners David Gold and David Sullivan, now at Upton Park, are said to be interested in taking the trio from St Andrews during the summer.
Ridgewell and Larsson are out of contract at the end of the season when they would be available for free, whilst striker Benitez is only on loan with the Blues from Santos Laguna.
Despite this speculation, though, McLeish remains calm over the future of the trio, and it taking the supposed interest from the Londoners with a pinch of salt.
"I'm not annoyed. It's good fun, all part of the banter," he said. "I'm not surprised by anything I read in the papers or see in the media nowadays. You get a good laugh sometimes.
"We have got some players coming up to their option periods and we plan to take up those options and let them know more towards the end of the season."
