Manchester City Football Club are not prepared to discuss a new contract with Shaun Wright-Phillips until the end of the current season.

The England international is disappointed not to be offered fresh terms from the Eastlands club, but coach Roberto Mancini has told him to concentrate on his football until the summer.

“Shaun is an important player but we have time in the future to speak about his contract," said the Italian. "Now it is important he plays well for the team in this game, the next game.

"It is vital the players play 100 per cent because we have one important target. Shaun gives 100 per cent and that makes me happy. I think he is happy and I prefer it when the players speak with me."
