Tottenham Hotspur Football Club took another step towards a top-four finish on Saturday.

Jermain Defoe and a brace from Roman Pavlyuchenko gave Spurs a 3-1 win against Blackburn Rovers at White Hart Lane, enhancing their chances of UEFA Champions League football next season.

"Terrific result," Harry Redknapp told Sky Sports. "I felt today was going to be a difficult day because they are playing well. They are strong and they started the game well.

“The first 10-15 minutes they were on the front foot. They are a good team and they will win plenty of games. It was a big three points for us."
