Bolton Wanderers Football Club are edging towards Premier League safety.

The Whites suffered a 4-0 loss at Sunderland in midweek, but they were back to winning ways on Saturday when they beat Wigan Athletic by the same scoreline.

Goals from Johan Elmander, Kevin Davies, Fabrice Muamba and Matty Taylor did the damage, and lifted Owen Coyle’s side to thirteenth place and eight points clear of the drop zone.

"We have been in terrific form of late,” said Coyle. “We're trying to build a fortress here at the Reebok and it was shown to be the case today - it was a terrific performance.”
