Tottenham Hotspur confirm Keane return
06:15 PM 14 March, 2010
Joe Jordan has confirmed Robbie Keane will return to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.

The Republic of Ireland international was struggling to hold down a regular place at White Hart Lane earlier this season, so he was farmed off to Celtic on loan in January.

It has been suggested that Keane could remain at Parkhead on a permanent basis, but Spurs coach Jordan has revealed the striker will be returning to Harry Redknapp’s squad in the summer.

"Without a doubt, he's the captain," Jordan told the Sunday Herald. "Harry brought him back here and he was a major player in getting us out of trouble last season.

“Not just on the pitch, but in the dressing room as well. He was an influential guy, he's a leader, and there's not many of them going about. It wasn't just the player, it was the person we wanted."
